I was having a dream... Sitting in a chair in an incomplete skyscraper in Lower Manhattan, while a shadowy figure was explaining to me how a B-25 accidentally crashed into the Empire State Building during the early 1930s... Then I woke up.
The TV was still on from the night before. Our world and our culture had changed in mid-dream. We soon would be bewildered, then fearful, then angry. All justifiable, but not well defined. The definition of those emotions is what makes us. The outcome is what preserves us as a country and a culture. Do not mistake that in the heat of a fleeting moment. Our present and our future is what we decide it to be. Reassure that spirit, as one that cannot be extinguished by impulse.
We stand for something much greater.
